  • 1987

    Conor Mccreedy is born in Johannesburg, South Africa, February 11, the son of a property developer of French-Irish decent and a South African architect and interior designer.

  • 1993–1999

    Junior education, attends St. David’s Marist Brothers School, Johannesburg. His passion for painting starts at a very early age using his mother’s makeup brush and being fascinated by the pigments of coffee grounds.

  • 2000–2005

    He attends the private boarding school Hilton College in the Natal Midlands.  He is known as an disruptive student who breaks the rules and his teachers describe him as an enigma. During his high school years he is passionate about sports and art. He is captain of the first golf team. He wins the First Prize in The Natal University Fine Arts Competition and the Kenneth Memorial Prize for Art.

  • 2007

    Mccreedy moves to North Carolina, United States, where he is awarded a full golf scholarship. After six months he decides to move to London and to work as an artist.

  • 2008

    He takes over renowned ballet dancer Margot Fonteyn’s old studio on Talgarth Road in London and sets up his first art studio. He mainly paints fine art portraits.

  • 2009

    He moves to New York and studies at the Pratt Institute of Art and Design in Manhattan, New York. He works as a fashion model and begins selling his art on the streets of Union Square. There, he is discovered and becomes the youngest artist in history to hold a solo exhibition at the National Arts Club, a private members arts club in New York. This first exhibition is named “Outliers“.

  • 2010

    Solo exhibition “Portraits“ at David Brown Art Gallery, Johannesburg, South Africa.

  • 2011

    Mccreedy creates his own colour “Mccreedyblue“, a combination of five unique pigments that he uses from now on exclusively for all of his paintings. For him, blue is “not only a colour, it is a philosophy and a way of life.“ He is commissioned by the american media company Time Warner to create their logo in his signature Mccreedyblue style.   • 2012

    Solo exhibition “African Ocean“ at Charles Bank , Elizabeth Street Gallery, New York.  A private collector buys the large-sized painting “Secret Movements“ for over USD 150.000, a record breaking price for an artist under 30.

  • 2013

    Mccreedy’s painting of former South African President Nelson Mandela is stolen from New York. Interpol agency declares it priceless until returned to the artist. He founded the non-profit organisation P.A.L. (Protecting African Lions) together with celebrities and friends. South African Style Awards name him “Most Stylish Business Personality” in South Africa. Group exhibition, Everard Read Gallery, Johannesburg.

  • 2014

    He moves to Zurich, Switzerland, and sets up his atelier headquarters in the heart of the city along the banks of the Limmat river. Bloomberg Markets TV broadcasts the interview “Conor Mccreedy – the next luxury brand“.  Stephan Welz in association with Sotheby’s offers five of his paintings on auction in South Africa. One-man show at 20th International Contemporary Art fair “Kunst14 Zurich“.  Solo exhibition “Mccreedyblue“ at Galerie Proarta, Zurich

    Record auction sales achieved in South Africa through Stephan Welz Auction house
    Solo Sold out exhibition in Hong Kong at the Cat Street Gallery
    Bloomberg Markets TV conduct an interview on Mccreedy- Describing him as the next Luxury Art Brand

  • 2016

    Represented by HG contemporary Guggenheim gallery in NYC
    Mccreedy opens his own global HQ atelier and private gallery space based in Zurich old town
    UBS commission Mccreedy to create the world‘s most exclusive “Art Candles” for UBS high networth elite clients the candles are modelled of his original high value paintings

  • 2017
    Sotheby’s debut auction the painting titled “Indian Ocean” in March sells for higher estimate.
    Solo Exhibition in June, HG contemporary Guggenheim, New York
    Featured in COSMOSCOW Russia Art fair September 
    Solo Exhibition in September, Gallery Askeri, Moscow. Russia.
